Description

Video 1:

This is a fairly elaborate 3 part series on centric relation.

Remember, CR is a bone-to-bone relation that is dictated by proprioception and muscular coordination. While recording CR for complete dentures is fairly straightforward, doing so for dentate patients is a bit more cumbersome. It involves deprogramming the mandible via temporary separation of posterior teeth.

In part 1 I answer questions like, why is CR so important and when should cases be treated in centric relation.

There are many philosophies regarding the duration of deprogrammation with little global consensus. In this video, I present my perspective on the concept of short, intermediate, and long-term deprogrammation with recommendations on usage protocol.

Next, I present a patient demonstration on how to customize Unwind MD, a pre-fabricated anterior deprogrammer designed by yours truly. Further details about the same can be found here: https://mikdental.in/product/unwind-md-muscle-deprogrammer/

Video 2:

In this second part of the CR series, I demonstrate the art of recording CR using Unwind MD (Standard) and BiteAl on a patient. That's a major chunk of this super video.

Next, I introduce the Class II Unwind, ideally suited for patients with a deep overbite.

Find Unwind here: https://mikdental.in/product/unwind-md-muscle-deprogrammer/

Find BiteAl here: https://mikdental.in/product/bite-al/

Also to make your task easy, sharing with you a downloadable pdf listing the step-by-step art of recording CR... my way :-)

Video 3:

The last part of this CR series is about Dawson manipulation, a technique for recording centric bite without the use of an anterior stop.

An important part of this video is 'load testing', the only objective technique for verification of deprogrammation and centric condylar position.

To end this series I shout out a very strong statement; one that I endorse and wish for you to drill into your memory bank.
